The withdrawal to the opposition is the wisest decision for the PLDM, while the participation in governance would mean that this party fell again into the trap of the PDM, Vladimir Socor, political analyst of the Jamestown Foundation and Eurasia Daily Monitor, said in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.

“The state institutions of the Republic of Moldova haven’t been fully captured. The PDM, which is managed from behind by the controversial businessman Vlad Plahotnciuc, wants to attract the PLDM into a new trap so as to be able to gain full control of the state institution. Without the PLDM, they will be unable to form a pro-European coalition because this is the only really pro-European party in the Parliament of Moldova. I hope at least such a party will not be called pro-European so as not to further discredit the idea of pro-European integration,” stated Socor.

According to the analyst, the PLDM has two options for switching to the opposition. “The first variant is to form the opposition within a government coalition. This is it will take part in governance, but will act in opposition to the corrupt alliance partners. The second variant is to fully move to the opposition. I think the second variant is the best for the PLDM. Only this way will they be able to save the country’s pro-European course, to free the state from captivity and to save the party,” said Socor.
