Vladimir Sarban, Secretary of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) resumed his activity after an extended sick leave, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A year ago, on June 8, Vladimir Sarban recommenced his activity as Secretary of the Municipal Council after a year-and-a-half long break generated by the investigation procedures, the detention and the trial related to the “case of ambulances”.
Vladimir Sarban told Info-Prim Neo that he was back to his position after the sick leave in order to resume his professional activity.
When asked to comment on a potential unwillingness of the incoming municipal councillors to collaborate with the secretary of Chisinau Municipal Council, Sarban said that the local representatives cannot dismiss the municipal secretary if they don’t have legal grounds stipulated by the Labour Code. “The secretary of the municipal council enjoys stability. That means that if he respects the law, he can hold this job for several terms of the Municipal Council”, Sarban said.
Nicolae Manastarli, the chief of the Administrative Department, was the secretary interim for all that period, and now he is back to his main position. He is concurrently serving as interim mayor of the city until the second round of elections that will take place on June 17.
