A transparent and corruption-free City Hall, supporting veterans’ organizations, modernizing housing in the city, fighting “black holes” in municipal enterprises. Such are the priorities formulated by Vladimir Rusu, Sergiu Popovici and Alexandru Gustoi, candidates for Balti mayor, invited to a round of electoral debates on TV8.

Vladimir Rusu said that he accepted the challenge to run for Balti mayor on behalf of the Action and Solidarity Party after analyzing all the perspectives and possibilities that Balti has and together with the team of councilors he came up with a feasible program. The candidate aims to make Balti City Hall open not only to the people and entrepreneurs of Balti, but also to European partners. The government together with the local authorities have the opportunity to carry out large-scale projects in Balti. Vladimir Rusu mentioned that Kiev Street is “a shame of the municipality” and his electoral program includes solving this problem.

Asked by one of the opponents if PAS uses administrative resources, Vladimir Rusu said that he does not and that he is betting on free and fair elections. Vladimir Rusu encouraged voters to carefully analyze the electoral program and the abilities of each competitor to study the team of councilors standing behind the mayoral contender.

Sergiu Popovici, candidate for the Coalition for Unity and Welfare, aims to fight the “black holes” in the municipal companies of Balti. He added that the municipal administration must take care of education, city sanitation and public transport, guard against corruption and theft. Sergiu Popovici shared the vision regarding Kiev Street, noting that the main problem is the sewerage, not the roadway.

The electoral program of the candidate of the Party of Communists, Alexandru Gustoi, has three pillars aimed at housing-communal direction, roads and the social program. He emphasized as important the granting of “maternal capital” at the birth of the first child, the support of people with disabilities, the support of veterans’ organizations. The candidate proposes to modernize housing in the city, to thermally insulate apartment blocks, to install solar panels so that the city’s residents pay less in utility bills.
