The candidate of the Democrat Party, Vladimir Filat, considers that the biggest achievement of the election campaign is the honest discussion that he had with the voters in the city and at work, as a result of which there were initiated a series of important projects for the future of the city and of the children. In a press statement quoted by Info-Prim Neo, Filat says that he is satisfied with the fact that he managed to conduct a positive and fair campaign where he promoted debates of ideas and projects, based on programmes and not on personal attacks, where he emphasised the direct discussion with the population. “The election campaign is finished for me, but the activity for the benefit of the community is just getting started, that is why I will continue to follow the evolution of all the interpellations and petitions that I made on behalf of the citizens until after they are solved”, says Filat. Filat further stated that he together with his colleagues from the future City Council will mainstream the projects that he assumed in his electoral programme. He intends to continue his meetings with the citizens and exchange views in an open manner about the priorities of the public administration. Vladimir Filat hopes that the slogan he had in this electoral campaign: “START involvement, STOP indifference”, will be a first step towards building a new type of public administration, open to the citizens and democratic values, which would prioritise the benefit of the capital residents. According to the partial data after processing about 91% of the ballots, Vladimir Filat gained 8.19% of the votes, while the Democrat Party accumulated 6.67% of the votes for councillor offices.
