Democratic Party deputy chairman Vladimir Cebotari says that PDM’s decision to withdraw from the government was made based on priorities.

"Today we are in a serious political and constitutional crisis. Violent actions were planned in one or two [days] from now, and none of us could predict what their results or consequences could have been. We do not want this to happen. Therefore, we decided it was time to leave responsibility, " said Vladimir Cebotari  for television station Canal 2.

The politician says that by doing this, PDM will become stronger.

Commenting on the social projects that PDM started, such as, „Drumuri bune” (Good roads), „Prima Casă” (First Home), Vladimir Cebotari mentioned that he wouldn’t be surprised if those project weren’t continued. "I wish that whoever comes and takes the seats, even if illegally, acts caring about the citizens," said the politician.

Asked if PDM will urge its supporters to take to the streets on Sunday, Vladimir Cebotari says that that would be crime.

"PDM withdrew from the government. The only legal government that could exist, is a technical one, consisting of state secretaries. There cannot be be another legal government. Another government with full powers can only be called a result of early parliamentary elections. There is no other solution, " said the PDM deputy-chairman.

On Friday, June 14, the Democratic Party decided to withdraw from the government. Government ministers led by Prime Minister Pavel Filip were to resign starting yesterday.
