The Democratic Party (PDM) does not have political aspirations over the Chisinau City Hall, but is ready to support, through the agency of the Government, all the good projects intended for the capital city that will be in the interests of the citizens. This is how the Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc in a press briefing commented on the accusations that the PDM took control of the City Hall by a raider attack by naming two persons close to the party as deputy mayors, one of whom serves as acting mayor, IPN reports.

Vlad Plahotniuc noted that immediately after the new deputy mayors were appointed, the Liberals and the Socialists made practically similar statements. He asked the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu and President Igor Dodon, who led the Party of Socialists before being elected Head of State, why they didn’t designate a person as acting mayor given that the Liberals and the Socialists together hold a majority on the Chisinau Municipal Council. “Why do you allow the PDM, which has only one councilor on the CMC, to name your acting mayor and deputy mayors?” asked Vlad Plahotniuc.

The Democrat also said the two parties fear that things in the City Hall will change to the better and they will lose control of the institution that until now brought satisfaction and benefits to them and dissatisfaction to the inhabitants of Chisinau. It’s time to correct the mistakes made by the previous administration of the City Hall. “We decided with the colleagues that, no matter who manages the Chisinau City Hall, we will find a way to actively cooperate to improve its work,” said Vlad Plahotniuc.

On November 6, acting mayor general of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu signed an order by which ex-director of Gas Natural Fenosa Silvia Radu and municipal councilor of the PPEM Ruslan Codreanu were named deputy mayors of Chisinau and the duties of acting mayor general were delegated to Silvia Radu.
