Vlad Filat: We will back Marian Lupu’s candidacy for President

“We do not have another stance than that set out in the agreement on the formation of the ruling alliance. We will back the candidacy of Marian Lupu for the post of President, if he wants to,” the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Vlad Filat said in the program “Moldova in direct” (“Moldova Live”) on Moldova 1 channel. Filat said that the PLDM will support Lupu even if they are not able to obtain 61 votes, but Lupu will have to assume responsibility, Info-Prim Neo reports. As to the presidential elections, Vlad Filat said the PLDM also wants the elections to take place in December, but the 2012 state budget must be approved until December 31 so that the pensions and salaries next year are paid on time.
