Vlad Filat to meet with Evgeny Shevchuk in Odessa

Prime Minister Vlad Filat will have a meeting with the Transnistrian leader Evgeny Shevchuk in Odessa on January 27, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Government, the agenda of the meeting includes the prospects of the Transnistrian conflict settlement process and the steps that will be taken to deal with the acute problems confronting the people living on the banks of the Nistru River. The meeting will take place in the context of the preparations for a new round of formal Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format that is set to take place in Ireland’s Dublin at the end of February. The official talks in the 5+2 format were resumed in Vilnius on November 30 – December 1, 2011, after a pause of almost six years.
