Prime Minister Vlad Filat was praised by the alliance colleagues for the report on the Government’s work presented in Parliament on April 27, but was criticized by unaffiliated MPs, Info-Prim Neo reports. Democratic lawmaker Adrian Candu said the Government achieved results, but should concentrate its attention on the people’s needs in the next period. He stated that a plan of reforms for every institution should be drafted separately, with definite terms and measures. The head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said that the AEI Government worked and continues to work in order to ensure stability in the country and better living conditions. “The Government managed to maintain a constant course in all the areas, the growth rate of exports and the growth indicators, to improve the business environment and increase salaries in a number of areas. Support should be provided to the executive in implementing the government program,” he stated. Liberal MP Valeriu Munteanu said some of the reforms are delayed and the number of acts of corruption has significantly increased and this creates serious impediments to establishing the rule of law. The leader of the Liberal faction Mihai Ghimpu said however that he was satisfied with the report and the progress made by the Government. MP Igor Dodon, who heads the group of the Socialists, said that the Premier’s report was populist in character. “The Moldovans found out today how well things go in Moldova. If the Premier hadn’t presented the report, we would have continued to believe that there is only poverty, criminality and corruption in Moldova. The report tries to makes us believe the inflated figures, not the high prices and tariffs and the low pensions and salaries,” he stated. He criticized the Government’s work in all the areas. Unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea said that the Government did not achieve many of the set objectives. He stressed that the fight against corruption was one of the greatest failures of the executive. The government program “European Integration: Freedom, Democracy, Welfare” covers the period between 2011 and 2014.
