Vlad Filat meets with EU and U.S. Ambassadors in Moldova

Prime Minister Vlad Filat had a meeting with representatives of the diplomatic corps of the EU Member States and the United States working in Chisinau. At the start of the meeting, the Premier said that such events became already a tradition and an occasion to discuss the situation in the country and the development prospects, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Government, the Premier took stock of the latest events that took place in Moldova. There were discussed aspects of the implementation of the European agenda and the current stage of the Transnistrian conflict settlement process. In this connection, Vlad Filat stressed that Moldova fulfils the assumed commitments in strict compliance with the agreed agenda and expressed his conviction that the set objectives will be achieved, while the path to European integration will very soon become irreversible for Moldova. Speaking about the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, Vlad Filat mentioned the positive results of the talks in the 5+2 format held in Vienna and the incontestable progress made in agreeing the principles and necessary procedures. He said that there is a clear plan of action aimed at strengthening the confidence-building measures and solving the social-economic, humanitarian, problems, problems concerning the human rights and others. The Premier reiterated that the official Chisinau is in favor of maintaining a constructive dialogue with all the partners with a view to identifying viable solutions in this process. For their part, the ambassadors thanked the Premier for the opportunity to discuss topical problems of common interest as regards the developments in Moldova. They approved of the Government’s effort to promote the reforms initiated with the aim of implementing the European integration agenda and the progress made in the process of reunifying the country. The officials reasserted that they support Moldova’s European integration course and pleaded for a constant and efficient dialogue with the authorities.
