Prime Minister designate Vlad Filat wrote a message of condolence over the death of former British Premier Margaret Thatcher. The book of condolence was opened by the British Embassy in Chisinau, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government.

“In my name and the name of the Moldovan people, I offer our sincere condolences to the grieving family and to the British Government in connection with the passing away of a great fighter for freedom and democracy, Baroness Margaret Thatcher. Owing to her devotion and dedication in the country’s service, Margaret Thatcher will remain in memory as one of the most remarkable and prominent political figures not only in the UK, but also beyond its borders. I express our solidarity and compassion to the British people,” wrote Vlad Filat.
