Vlad Filat has great expectations of Barroso’s visit to Chisinau

Prime Minister Vlad Filat says he has enormous expectations of the visit that the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso is expected to pay to Moldova. “This visit is very important. Besides summing up the results, there will be set clear objectives for the future and delivered a very clear message as regards the development prospects,” Vlad Filat said in the program “Good Evening” on Moldova 1, Infor-Prim Neo reports. The Premier said that the European official’s visit is long awaited and will include an on-the-spot assessment. “Do you know how I end my visits to our partners? I invite them to Chisinau. I tell them the old saying: it’s better to see once than to hear 100 times,” he stated. Vlad Filat also said that the next year is vital for the country also because Moldova is to complete the talks on the Association Agreement with the EU and to sign it by the next Eastern Partnership Summit that will take place in Vilnius at the end of November. “I think that during these three years we managed to achieve palpable results in this movement towards Europe. We have good, even friendly relations with important European partners. We have a clear-cut agenda that is to be implemented. The quality and speed at which we move in this European integration process do not have a precedent,” said the Premier. The European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso will pay a visit to Chisinau on November 29-30.
