The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) will continue to support the country’s European course after the parliamentary elections of this November. The party’s leader Vlad Filat is hopeful that the coalition parties in the electoral period will manage to pursue the common objective of European integration and will not criticize each other, IPN reports.
In the program “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, Vlad Filat said the members of the coalition will render a report on the results achieved during the mandate before the people on September 25. There will be also presented the commitments for the next four years.
Asked about possible coalitions after the legislative elections, the Liberal-Democratic leader said the PLDM will form coalitions only with the parties that are able to achieve the objectives related to the country’s European integration. He admitted that there are disagreements inside the current coalition, but it is normal for them to exist and they are overcome by dialogue.
Referring to the proposal of the Ukrainian Supreme Rada to close all the border crossing points at the frontier with Transnistria, Vlad Filat said Ukraine is an independent and sovereign state that has the right to increase the security measures on the border given the crisis in the region. The delimitation of the state border between Moldova and Ukraine was stopped by the self-proclaimed Transnistrian authorities, but the completion of this process is important for ensuring safe customs administration, etc.
