Vlad Filat congratulated by Javier Solana

Vlad Filat was congratulated on his appointment as Prime Minister by the Secretary General of the Council of the European Union Javier Solana, the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy. The European official said that it is important that the new administration of Moldova does not ignore the Transnistrian conflict and has a constructive dialogue with the Opposition, Info-Prim Neo reports. In his letter, Javier Solana says that Vlad Filat took over in a crucial moment. “It is time that the Moldovan political forces act together in a reconciliation spirit. The dialogue on the cooperation between the Government and the Opposition is essential for Moldova's future,” the European official said, stressing that the Prime Minister will play a major role in this respect. As to the Transnistrian dispute, Solana said: “Despite the serious challenges faced by the new executive, it is important that you do not omit this issue, which is crucial for strengthening the Moldovan state.”
