The results of the June 14 local elections showed that the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) enjoys the greatest confidence, said the party’s leader Vlad Filat, noting that voting for the PLDM’s candidates the people vote for a prosperous, European future for the country’s benefit. “In those settlements where the PLDM does not have candidates running in the second round of elections, including in Chisinau, I call on the people to vote for the candidates of the democratic parties,” he stated, quoted by IPN.
Vlad Filat noted that the unordinary case that happened in Soroca district, where the PLDM’s candidate for mayor of Racovat village was beaten cruelly by representatives of “Our Party”, reveals the real face of those who consider that the law is something abstract and are trying to bring bandit-like practices into the country.
“You must not allow criminals to come to power as a result of the second round of elections. We demand that the competent institutions should penalize those to blame. Such criminal actions must be counteracted so as to prevent them from spreading all over the country, as some want,” said the politician.
The leader of the PLDM added that these people will not manage to take their lifestyle into the Moldovan politics and, if they do not understand that politics means arguments and ideas, not the use of violence, they should better go where they feel comfortable. He called on the people from the settlements where the second round of voting will take place to think very well before casting their ballots as there are now many people in Moldovan politics who want to destabilize the situation and cause chaos in Moldova.
