Vlad Filat: All those who hid killing will be dismissed

Prime Minister Vlad Filat said all the functionaries of governmental institutions who took part in the hunting in the scientific reserve “Padurea Domneasca” will be dismissed. According to him, one of the deputy health ministers will also be discharged, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel, the Premier said he will make sure that the given functionaries are dismissed immediately after the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the way the competent bodies handled this case presents its report. “This is necessary in order to draw conclusions. We should not hide behind party interests or the interests of the ruling alliance in such a case that revealed serious shortcomings,” he stated. Vlad Filat said that he referred to “Moldsilva” Agency, because the hunting was illegal, the Prosecutor’s Office because the hunting involved the prosecutor general and two district prosecutors, who were obliged to inform about this case, the police, at least district police officials, officials from the district hospital, and a deputy minister. But he didn’t give names. According to the Premier, the fact that the legislative body accepted the prosecutor general’s resignation is a natural denouement of this process that was delayed for so long. “I regret it that the resignation wasn’t handed in immediately after this case became known,” he stated. Vlad Filat also said that all those who took part in the hunting and were obliged to inform their superiors about what happened should have left their posts immediately, taking into account first of all the moral aspect. When evidence is provided, there will be also imposed penalties as ‘hiding the truth is a serious crime’. The December 23 hunting incident that resulted in the death of a man was made public by politician Sergiu Mocanu on January 6. He said then that the shooting was hidden because it was the prosecutor general who was to blame for the killing. The Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit, accusing the former vice president of the Chisinau Court of Appeals Gheorghe Cretu of accidental killing. According to the list published by “Moldsilva” Agency, the hunting involved 30 persons.
