Even if some hurdles exist in the talks between Chisinau and Tiraspol, there is also communication, and the negotiations official in the 5+2 format are continuing normally, stated Prime Minister Vlad Filat at a meeting with the ambassadors of the Western European Partners Group WEP5, the Government said in a press release. The topic discussed was the neutrality experience of the Western European states, as well as the benefits gained by these countries in their relationship with NATO. Vlad Filat said that Moldova has fully engaged itself in the reformation process and has clear goals ahead. “The European integration process means, first of all, implementing reforms, which don’t come easy, but we have proved that it’s possible. Our objective is to complete negotiations on the Association Agreement and on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, and to finish the second stage of visa liberalization, all before the next Eastern Partnership Summit”. Concerning Moldova’s cooperation with NATO, Vlad Filat noted the positive development and collaboration in accordance with the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) between Moldova and NATO. “Our cooperation with NATO is good, and this partnership has helped us accomplish a number of concrete results”, stated Filat. The WEP5 Group plays an important role in the cooperation with NATO in what concerns both participation in international missions and implementation of major NATO projects.
