The MP of the Party of Socialists Vlad Batrîncea said they want a broad investigation with international expertise into the road accident that involved President Igor Dodon and a part of his family. He developed the issue in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.
Vlad Bătrîncea said he has a lot of questions about that accident, including why the truck involved in the accident wasn’t stopped by the police, as the regulations concerning the escorting of the President’s column provide.
The MP expressed his indignation at the fact that the head of the State Guard and Protection Service two days after the accident announced that an attempt on the President was excluded. Such a conclusion cannot be reached in a short period of time as different circumstances, telephone discussions, correspondence, information from close persons can appear meanwhile. “Usually, the investigators adopt a neutral position and state they cannot comment while the investigation is on,” stated Vlad Batrîncea.
He noted that according to the investigators, the truck driver was described by the company for which he works as a specialist with experience who didn’t have such incidents earlier. Furthermore, the driver had run on that route for a year already.
Jurist Pavel Midrigan said a parallel investigation with that of the state institutions can be conducted if there is willingness. Technical examinations can be performed to determine the speed of the vehicles and other circumstances of the accident. “Most probably, until the power is changed this accident will be forgotten,” he stated.
