Wishing to implement swiftly the salary reform, the government made a number of technical mistakes, first of all at the level of the Ministry of Finance, which drafted the salary law, stated Socialist MP Vlad Batrîncea. According to him, the measures taken by the senior administration should not be implemented in a hurry and only for electoral purposes, IPN reports.
According to him, when the new salary system was analyzed, the necessary financial resources hadn’t been identified and the 2019 budget hadn’t been adopted. The salaries of some of the young teachers rose, while the pays of teachers with experience either remained at the same level or decreased. Furthermore, the principals of education institutions have lower pays. “Why did this happen? First of all, because there were problems in terms of concept and calculation of finances,” the MP stated in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel.
He noted problems are also witnessed in the pension system. Some of the categories of pensioners had their pension increased, but the extra allowance they got was reduced and their income remained the same or even diminished.
Vlad Batrîncea said the Republic of Moldova found itself in the situation in which it is not clear how the budget deficit for 2019 will be covered.
