The Party of Socialists can vote the leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu Prime Minister if the bloc ACUM votes the party’s leader Zinaida Grecheanyi Parliament Speaker, Socialist MP Vlad Batrîncea was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Politics of Natalia Morari” on TV8 channel.
“This is a political agreement between two participants. We, as a party, as a parliamentary group, obtain the post of Speaker with our candidate in this post. If they (e.n. bloc ACUM) take over the Government and most of the ministries, they will decide who the candidate for Prime Minister is,” stated the politician.
Vlad Bătrîncea said that besides the post of Speaker of Parliament, the PSRM wants the ministry of foreign affairs and the ministry of defense. “As regards the Government, this will be managed by the bloc ACUM, except for two ministries that are within the remit of the President: defense and foreign affairs,” he stated.
Explaining why the PSRM claims the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Socialist MP said the President and the Premier are the key figures with powers in the field of foreign policy and they could do so as to maintain a balance in the relations with the foreign partners. The President, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, could deal with the restoration of relations with the market of the Commonwealth of Independent States, while the Premier could focus on the Western direction and this way a very nice balance could be established.
Vlad Batrîncea said the PSRM hasn’t considered the possibility of forming an alliance with the Democratic Party.
