The executive secretary of the Party of Socialists Vlad Batrîncea, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, said the kidnapping of the Ukrainian judge Nicolae Ceaus was planned by the intelligence service of Ukraine under the strict monitoring of the Security and Intelligence Service of Moldova. Moreover, the kidnapping was the result of an agreement between Volodymyr Zelensky and Maia Sandu that was reached during a meeting in Kiev earlier this year, IPN reports.

According to Vlad Batrîncea, the kidnapping of a person in the center of Chisinau and his transportation out of the country is a too difficult procedure for not to be coordinated at the upper level.

“For sure, this happened with the support of an employee of the Embassy of Ukraine in Chisinau, by using the car with diplomatic registration numbers. Such cases in the Republic of Moldova are monitored by the SIS. This was done by our SIS in coordination with the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine),” Vlad Batrîncea stated in the talk show “Fourth Power” on N4 channel.

He noted the kidnapping of Ceaus was discussed and agreed during the first official visit of President Maia Sandu to Kiev. He suspects that Sandu was involved in the kidnaping also because she tries to hush up this case.

“The Supreme Security Council held a meeting. Such events are examined at the highest level and the managers of the security institutions are called to report. In our case, the reaction is slow. At political level, the case of Ceaus is an agreement between the administration of Ukraine and the administration of the Republic of Moldova. This case was definitely discussed by the heads of state, Zelensky and Sandu. The operation was performed with the tacit agreement of the two,” stated the Socialist MP.

Ukrainian judge Nicolae Ceaus, who was caught taking US$150,000 bribe in Ukraine, asked for political asylum in the Republic of Moldova. His application was rejected and his case reached the Supreme Court of Justice. Acceding to his lawyer, Nicolae Ceaus was kidnapped in central Chisinau on April 3. The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova set up a commission of inquiry into the disappearance of the Ukrainian citizen.
