Vitalie Yeryomenko becomes European Under 23 vice-champion

Greco-Roman wrestler Vitalie Yeryomenko won a silver medal at the European Under 23 Championship in Baku. In the final of the 63 kg weight category, he lost to the representative of Azerbaijan Ziya Babashov 2-3, IPN reports.

Another Azerbaijani wrestler defeated Alexandrin Gutu in the semifinals of the 77 kg weight category, but then Roman Zgardan’s pupil beat Russia’s Ismail Barakhoev and won a bronze medal.

In the 55 kg weight category, Leonid Moroz was defeated in the small final by Russia’s Adam Ulbashev. Today, Vasile Zabica (72 kg) and Alexandru Solovei (82 kg) will contend for bronzes. They will fight Italy’s Giovanni Alessio and Germany’s Deni Nakaev respectively.
