Vitalie Voznoi, candidate of the "European Left" Political Party, argues that his team, which is a civic one, joins the race for the capital's City Hall with a five-chapter program - free Chisinau, modern Chisinau, comfortable Chisinau, green Chisinau and social Chisinau. According to him, the implementation of objectives and programs will be possible only if the Transparency Declaration is achieved, which he and his team have proposed for signing to other candidates. The statements were made during the public debates "Only one from many: who and why?", organized by the IPN Press Agency.
According to Vitalie Voznoi, the Transparency Declaration containing 15 items was developed by the civil society in 2018. Among the items of the document are the annulment of restrictions on the free access of citizens, the recertification of all the positions in the City Hall within one year, as well as the organization of employment competitions based on skills and merits etc.
In the elections, the activist relies on voters who are "sick and tired of corruption" who, in his opinion, represent 99% of the city’s population. The candidate is of the opinion that the current elections are not free and fair, in particular because some electoral contenders, while still unregistered, were conducting electoral activities, and it is not clear from what financial sources.
Voznoi says that he and the other participants in the debate are not very likely to get the mayor's office, but it is necessary to fight at least for the position of councillor in the Chisinau Municipal Council. In his opinion, the chances are small, because one candidate, for example, spends tens of millions of lei on advertising, concerts, whereas another contender campaigns at the expense of the former, also saying that "we must fight Russian tanks”, even if in a different wording " .
The candidate believes that people should vote for him in the elections on October 20, because for eight years, together with his team, he fought illegal constructions, the demolition of monuments, and also monitored the activity of the Chisinau Municipal Council since 2014 until now. He was not a member of PDM, PPEM, PLDM, PL, which, he believes, is very important.
The candidate recommends voters to vote for the candidates who have signed the Transparency Declaration, "because this will be very important in the Municipal Council" and to take into account what has been done in the last four years by those who want to become councillors or mayors. "I propose to vote for " European Left "- my civic list and my status as mayoral candidate - Vitalie Voznoi," the candidate urged.
The next debates are scheduled for October 15 and 16.
The debates "Only one from many: who and why?", with the participation of the candidates for the position of general mayor of Chisinau municipality, the first round, are the 118th edition of the cycle "Development of political culture in public debates", supported by the German Foundation Hanns Seidel.
