If Chisinau's budgetary sources are managed properly, then there will be money for a few projects in the capital, including the new treatment plant. The opinion belongs to Vitalie Marinuța, candidate of the Ecological Green Party for capital’s mayor position, and was expressed at the public debates "Only one from many: who and why? third round, the 120th edition of "Development political culture in public debates” cycle organized by the IPN Press Agency.
"There is money. But I am not for implementing 10-15 major projects at once. We must attract public-private partnerships, attract private money from abroad, even from our Moldovans working there, "said the candidate of the Ecological Green Party.
Vitalie Marinuta mentioned that, before the election campaign, he was in Brussels, where he discussed with deputy mayors from Vienna and Brussels and vice-chairmen of the European green parties which are "on the rise". "We will have a total openness to access the European ecological fund and, through this fund and not only, to make our city a European capital in which we want to live," said the candidate of the Ecological Green Party.
Another problem identified by Vitalie Marinuța is the high degree of pollution in the capital. The sources of pollution identified by the ecological candidate include cars, companies that use combustion processes and inefficient management of household waste.
According to Vitalie Marinuța, the problem of education is one of the most difficult to solve in the capital. "We have no teachers, because they are leaving. In kindergartens we do not have the necessary conditions and we do not have the required number of kindergartens to institutionalize children so that their parents could work," he specified.
The candidate of the Ecological Green Party has mentioned that his military experience represents an asset for mayor position because in crisis situations, democratic countries such as the US and France, for example, elect people with military skills and experience as their leaders. “I have much work experience in crisis management. For these reasons, the city needs a mayor who can bring discipline," said Vitalie Marinuța. In the context, the candidate stated that precisely the lack of skills and discipline led to corruption and the lack of decision-making transparency.
The debates "Only one from many: who and why?", with the participation of the candidates for the position of general mayor of Chisinau municipality, the third round, are the 120th edition of the cycle "Development of political culture in public debates", supported by the German Foundation Hanns Seidel.
