If offense elements had existed, the seven persons of Turkish origin wouldn’t have been expelled, but arrested  and charged, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Moldova Vitalie Gamurari was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Important” on TVC21 channel.

“I’m sure that the Security and Intelligence Service of the Republic of Moldova collected and had such information and when they established that the presence and activity of these persons pose a threat to the national security, they applied the relevant legislation,” stated Vitalie Gamurari.

He noted that the actions taken by the law enforcement agencies were aimed not against the lyceums, but against concrete persons. “I wonder if any of the seven persons who were declared unwanted on the territory of the Republic of Moldova tried to apply for the nationality of the country,” said the spokesman.

Seven Turkish citizens, six of whom principals and teachers of the Moldovan-Turkish lyceum “Orizont”, last week were declared undesirable and expelled from Moldova. According to the SIS, the seven foreigners are suspected of links with an Islamic group that reportedly performs illegal activities in a number of states.
