The president of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Vitalia Pavlichenko said the party she heads is close to making announcements concerning the party’s participation in the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019. The politician noted the party is having discussions with a number of parties on the formation of a common platform for running in the upcoming elections, IPN reports.

The leader of the PNL said they discussed with the Liberal Party, the Liberal Reformist Party, the Democratic Action Party, the People’s Will Party, the Popular Party of Moldova, the Democracy at Home Party, the Ecologist Green Party of Moldova, etc. They haven’t yet reached a consensus with the Liberal Party. The National Unity Party was also invited to discussions, but its representatives didn’t come.

Vitalia Pavlichenko noted forming a Euro-unionist platform that would pledge to create one party after the parliamentary elections would be the best variant. “We are now considering possibilities of uniting with those who want this. We would like to form a Euro-unionist platform. If we do not manage to form this, we should create at least a credible unionist bloc,” the politician stated in the program “Truth live”.

“We made our positon known in 2016, when we were the only party that was obstructed and not registered for the presidential elections. We said then that for a credible political process on the right, and we refer to the Romanian and European right, we should support one party in the parliamentary elections in Romania, should have a common candidate in the presidential elections, should form a political bloc after the presidential elections, should form an electoral bloc before the parliamentary elections of 2019 and one party after these elections so that we have a concentrated vote,” said the president of the PNL.
