Vitalia Pavlichenko said the National Liberal Party she heads always had candidates for the local elections in Chisinau municipality regardless of the earned votes. However, the unionist parties should provide a common candidate for the October 20 local elections, IPN reports.

“It will be good for the unionist bloc to have a common candidate , but I saw that the Liberal Party already started the struggle independently,” Vitalia Pavlichenko stated in the talk show “Important” on TVC21 channel. According to her, elections will be held not only in the municipality of Chisinau, but all over the country and the unionist parties should now combine forces.

The politician said she would prefer the National Liberal Party to run in elections together with the earlier formed Union bloc. “We will see if the Union bloc agrees. If not, we will try to form another coalition. It does not depend on us as some of the entities of the Union bloc took a break for unifications,” noted Vitalia Pavlichenko, adding she will personally not run in the next local elections.

As to the intention of the ACUM bloc and the Party of Socialists to conclude a nonaggression pact for the upcoming local elections, the politician said this could result in disappointment. “The PSRM will particularly strengthen its positions in the local elections in which they will run together,” she stated.
