The tendering of one’s resignation only several days after the appointment is something serious. A person does not simply resign after being named several days earlier, political commentator Vitali Catană was quoted by IPN as saying in the program “Reply” on Prime TV channel. He referred to the resignation from the posit of minister of justice handed over by Stanislav Pavlovschi on June 23, two weeks after the investiture of the Sandu Government.

Vitali Catană does not rule out the possibility that tasks that he couldn’t have carried out were entrusted to minister Pavlovski. He referred to the fact that the Ministry of Justice at a certain moment could issue notices concerning the amnestying of particular persons.

“The current governmental team acts like a sect, a circle of people who do not leave it or do not establish close relations with those who are not close to them. We see that loyal persons from their circle of friends are named to posts that require special training,” stated the commentator.

Journalist Andrei Andrievski said the Government considers that if close persons are named to manage state institutions, no one will notice this given that their supporters are in a kind of euphoria. For example, Andrei Năstase named a relative of his, Gheorghe Bălan, as chief of the National Police Inspectorate, while the head of staff of the minister of foreign affairs Andrei Popov is minister Nicu Popescu’s relative.

According to Andrei Andrievski, such appointments are convenient. “You name a relative of yours to a post. This is loyal to you and does what you say,” stated the journalist, adding something like this happened because the governmental team does not have enough suitable people.

Earlier, some of the political commentators criticized the former government for naming persons to posts based on such principles as loyalty and nepotism, in particular the fact that the former Parliament Speaker was related to the leader of the Democratic Party, as is a current Constitutional Court judge.
