The results of the last poll show that the Moldovan voters didn’t become politically mature yet, law expert Vitali Catana said in the talk show “Pahomi” on Realitatea TV channel, IPN reports.

“It’s clear that the PLDM was involved in the stealing of the billion and the party’s declining rating is due to this. The PSRM was also involved, but the respondents are ready to vote for the Socialists. The Krol report showed that Zinaida Grecheanyi’s husband took part in the illegal obtaining of loans from Banca de Economii to the value of about €3 million. I ask myself if our voters grew up politically. I think our voters are lazy and do not want to know and to make an effort to inform themselves,” stated Catana.

As to the lead held by the “Our Party” (PPPN) in the poll, the expert said it is due to the populist actions of this party’s leader Renato Usatyi. “The PPPN promoted a populist message up to the extreme. Renato Usatyi acted more like an impresario, organizing concerts. After he was elected mayor of Balti, Usatyi stayed more in Chisinau and in Moscow rather than in Balti. But the people continue to trust him,” he stated.

Vitali Catana warned the pro-European parties about the results of the poll. “The PL and PDM still have chances to restore their image, but the PLDM has no chance if it does not take part in governance,” he said.

The poll was carried out by Magenta Consulting in the period between September 29 and October 21. It covered a sample of 1,500 persons. The margin of sampling error is at most 2.8%. The survey showed that if early parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, 20% of those surveyed would vote for the Political Party “Our Party”. The Party of Socialists would rank second and would be followed by the European People’s Party and by the Platform “Dignity and Truth”, if this formed a party.
