All the documentary films that will compete at Cronograph festival this year can win the big prize, the director general of TV OWH studio, Virgiliu Margineanu has told Info-Prim Neo. The seventh edition of the International Documentary Film Festival will take place between May 15 and 19 at the Cultural Center “Odeon”. Twenty-eight films will compete at the basic section and 14 films at cadRO section. Moldova will be represented by the films of two directors: Dana Doneica and Dragos Turea. The jury is formed of five persons: the president of the jury that is from Moldova and by one representative from Germany, Poland, Romania, and Russia. Films made by local producers will be shown at the two local sections: Musical Clip and TV Production. The film “ColdWaves – War by Waves” made by the Romanian director Alexandru Solomon will be screened at the opening of the festival, for the first time in Moldova. The film is about the Romanian language section of Free Europe radio station and about its significance for Romanians during the period before Revolution. The workshop “Development and Financing of Film Projects” will be held as part of the festival. Twelve young directors from Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia will take part in the workshop. They will learn how to develop a film project and how to obtain funds to make a film. The Big Prize and the Public Sympathy’s Prize of the last three editions of the International Documentary Film Festival “Chronograph” were won by Polish films.
