The judges of the Chisinau Appeals Court on Wednesday replaced the preventive measure against ex-MP Violeta Ivanov, transferring her from house arrest under judicial control for a period of 60 days, IPN reports.
The judges accepted the request of the defense of the former MP, who is investigated for unjust enrichment, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office has said.
Violeta Ivanov is one of the five former MPs who were arrested on February 2. She and Anatolie Zagorodnyi, Sergiu Sîrbu, Vladimir Vitiuc and Artur Reshetnikov are investigated for unjust enrichment. The cases are investigated in connection with the corruption of MPs for making these leave their parliamentary groups.
