The Shor Party’s candidate for President Violeta Ivanov in her electoral program proposes paying a one-off allowance to the citizens who return to the country from abroad. The candidate also suggests tax concessions on employment, exemptions from paying for public utilities and free health insurance policies, IPN reports.

In a press briefing, Violeta Ivanov said that this is provided in the Diaspora chapter of her electoral program “Moldova-2024”. A large part of the plan’s provisions were tested in Orhei, where a relevant local program has been successfully implemented for several years.

“At the national level, we propose one-off allowances on return to the country, equal to three minimum guaranteed official salaries, monthly allowances for those who cannot work, customs and tax concessions, such as exemption from paying the income tax, compensation of the accommodation rent for a period of at most six months, free health insurance during the first year,” stated Violeta Ivanov.

According to her, the whole political class should support this plan that should become a key one, including for the future President. “Most of the politicians and parties remember the diaspora members only during elections campaigns and promise a lot to them, but forget about them after obtaining their vote. It’s not the case of our party that, as you know, is making effort to help the Moldovans who work abroad,” stated the candidate.

“In Orhei, we managed to bring back several hundred families. It’s not much, but imagine that we bring back several hundred families in each locality.”
