The Shor Party’s candidate for President Violeta Ivanov cast her ballot. She said she voted for pensions, salaries and decent living conditions for parents and grandparents. “I voted for our villages to prosper, to remove the difference between village and town, for those who live in the village enjoy the same conditions as the townspeople, for a flourishing Moldova, for developed agriculture,” stated Violeta Ivanov, being quoted by IPN.
The candidate called on the citizens to vote as the power is in their hands and they can decide the future. She noted she will stay near her family during the day, but in the evening will go to the office.
Violeta Ivanov was accompanied by team mates at the polling station.
The polls are open until 9pm. If need be, their program will be extended for two hours. As many as 2 807 182 citizens eligible to vote are expected to go to the polls today. A minimum voter turnout of one third of the voters put on the register of voters is needed for the elections to be validated. A number of 2,143 polling stations were established for the November 1 presidential elections. Of these, 139 are out-of country stations, while 42 are intended for the persons with the right to vote residing in the Transnistrian region, Bender municipality and some of the localities of Căușeni district.
