Employees of the Consumer Protection Agency established that three filling stations working in Chisinau discharged less fuel than the volume for which motorists paid, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Agency, the inspectors also determined that the fuel supply error at one filling station was higher than the maximally allowed error set in the normative documents.

Some of the filling stations used metering devices without having the required metrological documents. Also, the names of fuel products posted on the price board didn’t correspond with the names indicated in the compliance certificates for the sold products.

The register of complaints and the telephone number of the Consumer Protection Agency weren’t put in a visible and accessible place.

The inspectors drew up contravention reports and issued prescriptions, temporarily banning the use of the metering devices. The economic entities face fines of 200 to 6,000 lei.

The Consumer Protection Agency calls on the consumers to immediately ask stopping the discharge of fuel if they have doubts that the distribution board does not show the quantity accurately. If a shortage is determined, the operator must refund the consumers and stop using the distribution board until it is repaired.
