The Vilnius summit of this autumn is expected to be a success for the European integration process of Moldova. It is a good prospect for the country to enter the European Union one day. There is a yet a lot of work to be done and the political crisis of the start of this year showed this, the president of the European People’s Party (EPP) Wilfried Martens said after the meeting with Vlad Filat, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party that is a member of the EPP, IPN reports.
Wilfried Martens said the party that he heads will support Moldova in the European integration process. He urged the politicians to pursue polices based on responsibility.
Vlad Filat said the importance of the Vilnius summit is significant for Moldova because it is to irreversible anchor the country in the process of integrating into the great family of European democracies. “It is important for this thing to happen so that we bring the oscillations through which we went during this period of over 20 years to an end,” he stated.
Wilfried Martens cam to Chisinau to take part in the third European People’s Party Summit of the heads of state and government of the Eastern Partnership member states.
