The Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit starts on November 28 in the capital of Lithuania, which holds the presidency of the European Union. The main session of November 29 and the program meetings will take places at the Palace of the Great Dukes of Lithuania, which is a national museum opened to the public after reconstruction in July, IPN reports.
On November 28 at 6pm, the heads of state and governments will be officially met at the Grand Court of the Palace. A common dinner of the officials will be given in the evening.
The program on November 29 starts with the official welcome of the delegations. Afterward, there will be held the document signing ceremony. Moldova and Georgia are to initial the Association Agreement, while Ukraine was to sign it. After the signing ceremony, the Moldovan officials will make statements for the press and will have a family picture taken.
At about 10am, the heads of all the states taking part in the Summit, both of the Eastern Partnership and of the EU, will start to deliver speeches. The Summit will end in the afternoon with a common news conference of the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite, President of the Council of Europe Herman van Rompuy and President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso.
The Eastern Partnership is an association framework that the European Union established with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Belarus at the Prague Summit of May 7, 2009.
