Video system in Chisinau's central square will be modernized

The video system in the Great National Assembly Square will be improved. The Government allocated 1. 259 million lei from its reserve fund for extending, developing and modernizing the video system in Chisinau's central square and the adjoining area, Info-Prim Neo reports. There will be installed high-definition, 3MP video cameras that will enable to precisely identify the participants in the events and to send the pictures online to the Ministry of the Interior, the General Police Commissariat and the Security and Information Service. The State Guard and Protection Service will control the video cameras and store the information, as until present. The area is now supervised through eight video cameras. The pictures taken by those cameras during the April 2009 events, when many protesters were maltreated and a man was killed, are the main proofs in the investigation. Experts say the pictures are of a poor quality.
