The manager of the Independent Agency for Journalistic Investigations of Georgia “Reputation” Giga Liparteliani said that the coalition “Georgian Dream” led by Bidzina Ivanishvili, who won the parliamentary elections, represents a threat to the Georgians and to the whole post-Soviet area, including Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference held in Chisinau on October 18, Giga Liparteliani said that Georgia is a state that has built its democracy during 20 years, became a European country, implemented a number of reforms, including in the police sector, and today represents an example for many states. Giga Liparteliani said that corruption in Georgia was eradicated and there remained no criminal organization and criminal leader. The criminals who found refuge in other states are waiting for President Mikhail Saakashvili to leave so as to return. Now that the coalition led by Ivanishvili has won, the totalitarian regime may return in Georgia. According to Liparteliani, the next elections in Moldovan can be also rigged, as in Georgia. 10% of the 54% of the persons who voted for Ivanishvili voted for money, while another over 40% had been lied. “Don’t believe that I’m the representative of Saakashvili’s power. I also criticized him earlier. I have a free journalistic agency. There are now two ways for Georgia – it will either continue the civilized way towards European integration or will return to the Russian criminal empire,” stated Giga Liparteliani. According to the results of the Georgia elections, the opposition coalition “Georgian Dream” led by the billionaire Bidzina Ivanişvili won 54.9% of the poll. The United National Movement headed by Mikhail Saakashvili garnered 40.43% of the vote. No other parties passed the election threshold of 5%. Saakashvili has ruled the country since 2003 and will remain in power until the 2013 presidential elections. But, as a result of legislative reforms, the legislature and the Prime Minister of Georgia will have greater powers than the President.
