Victor Stepaniuc invites Igor Dodon to join his party

The leader of the recently created Socialist People’s Party Victor Stepaniuc officially invited former Communist MP Igor Dodon to join his party. “I invited him because my party includes persons with whom he already worked,” Victor Stepaniuc said in the program “Replica” on Prime TV, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Victor Stepaniuc said that Igor Dodon has now a rather high rating. “But this does not mean that his success is guaranteed. Vasile Tarlev also had a high rating earlier, but failed to create a team. It is important that Mister Dodon does not walk into a trap. If he joins our team, he will not get into a trap,” said the leader of the Socialist People’s Party. Victor Stepaniuc refuted the rumors that his party was created specially for Igor Dodon, saying he was only invited to join it. Replying to the Liberal-Democrat lawmakers’ assertion that anyone can join the PLDM, the chairman of the Democratic Action Party Mihai Godea said Igor Dodon will not want to be Vlad Filat’s shadow. “Igor Dodon’s political future is rather uncertain. It will be difficult for him if he joins a large party,” said Mihai Godea. The experts taking part in the program said that Igor Dodon probably decided what party to join and it may be the Party of Socialists, of which Veronica Abramchuk is a member. Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi and Veronica Abramciuc left the Communist parliamentary group on November 4. They said they are ready to vote for an apolitical candidate for the presidency in order to bring the political crisis to an end.
