The Constitutional Court decided that the dismissal of Victor Parlicov from the post of director general of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) and of Tudor Soitu from the post of deputy head and member of the Audit Office is unconstitutional. It thus pronounced on a challenge submitted by the Liberal parliamentary group, IPN reports.

The Court established that Victor Parlicov was discharged from the post of ANRE director by ignoring the constitutional norms and the legal provisions. In the case of Tudor Soitu, the Court said that a member of the Audit Office can be fired before the expiration of the term by Parliament, at the suggestion of the Audit Office head, in certain situations. But such situations didn’t occur.

The competent institutions are now to take measures to implement the two decisions of the Constitutional Court.

Victor Parlicov and Tudor Soitu were dismissed in the last sitting of Parliament on July 12.
