Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov considers the incidents that happened in the Transnistrian region this morning are connected with the electoral events taking place in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. Transnistrian militiamen this morning examined the Romanian language school in Corjova on the pretext that it was mined. After checking the school, the administration was allowed to hold the September 1 festivity and open the new academic year, but was banned from raising Moldova's flag. At the Rybnitsa-based high school, the militiamen tried to hinder the hoisting of the flag, while MP Stefan Uratu was not allowed to go to Tiraspol. “It seems that the incidents are related to the political events that will take place in Moldova. Corjova has often been a hotbed of incidents, especially during the electoral period. The September 5 constitutional referendum could contribute to a new, tense situation in this settlement,” Victor Osipov said in a press briefing. According to the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, the abnormal situation experienced by the Romanian language schools working in Transnistria during six years shows that the Tiraspol regime has an inappropriate attitude towards the children's rights and Moldovan representatives' gestures of goodwill. “As there was a bomb threat in the security zone last night, the Transnistrian authorities were to inform the United Military Command and ask the peacekeeping forces to intervene,” Victor Osipov said. He also said that he intended to take part in the September 1 celebrations at the Romanian language school in Bender (Tighina), but the Transnistrian administration declined his request. “In the previous meetings in the 5+2 format, we agreed that the representatives of the Tiraspol administration will set up a working group on education so as to create a platform for discussing the situation in education and help the schools administered by the Ministry of Education of Moldova and the other education institutions working in the region,” said the Deputy Prime Minister. Eight schools teach Romanian in Latin script in the Transnistrian region at present.
