The dialogue with Tiraspol must continue, regardless of the configuration of the future Government, acting Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov said in the program “Friday with Anatolie Golea”, IPN reports.

“For the first time this year, the Government of Moldova started a constructive dialogue with Tiraspol. We must continue what we started. The vacation begins, but I hope the discussions will be resumed,” stated Osipov.

He noted that Nina Shtanski’s letter to the embassies working in Chisinau, by which they threaten with the introduction of a visa regime and other bans for the people living on the right bank of the Nistru, is an act of despair given the difficult economic situation in the separatist region.

“The region faces an unprecedented economic crisis that could cause social revolt. I said it and repeat that the Government of Moldova does not want the situation on the left side of the Nistru to worsen and get out of control. We are concerned about what is happening in Transnistria. We want the situation there to be calm so that we can continue the dialogue. I think those from the Transnistrian administration haven’t yet understood what Chisinau’s intentions are,” stated Osipov.

The acting Deputy Premier noted that Chisinau will not oppose the assistance offered by Russia to Transnistria, but this assistance should be provided transparently, by informing the Moldovan Government. “We are not against officials of the Russian pension fund visiting Transnistria, but the Moldovan authorities must be informed about this. We want more transparency on the part of Russia,” said Osipov.
