Victor Ianukovici to be proposed for PM position

The president of Ukraine, Victor Iuscenko announced on Thursday night and that he will propose for the position of prime-minister his opponent in the presidential elections in 2004, the leader of the Regions’ Party, Viktor Iuscenko.
According to the Ukrainian press, Iuscenko declared that he understands how complicated is decision both for Western and Eastern of Ukraine. He calls on the population to have an understanding attitude regarding this unique chance to unite both banks of Nipru River. According to Iuscenko, another election would have led to the same result.
In mid June, the Ukrainian MP of Regions’ Party, Taras Cernovil declared that a new Government led by Victor Ianucovici could “cancel the sanctions applied to Transnistria”. According to him, the Regions’ Party pleaded previously against the actions of the Ukrainian leadership to introduce the economic sanction (meaning the new customs regime) against the Transnistrian region.
On the other hand, during his visit to Chisinau, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that when the new parliamentary coalition will be formed, the present course of foreign affairs policy will not change. He declared that Kiev does not regret and will not give up to the implementation of the Joint declaration of the Moldovan and Ukrainian prime-ministers, although the new customs regime at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border caused financial loss to Ukraine.
At a press conference organized in July, the president of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin, while referring to the political evolutions in Ukraine and possible effects over the Transnistrian crisis declared, that lately there were established, “very good and stable contacts” with Transnistria. At the same time, he expressed his hope that Ukraine will remain a reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova.
