The municipal councilor Victor Chironda was registered as a candidate for the position of general mayor of Chișinău municipality. The decision was adopted today, September 18, by the Electoral Council of the Chișinău municipal electoral district.
Asked by IPN, the secretary of the Council, Igor Moraru, said that today two other candidates have put forward their files. These candidates are Dumitru Țîra from the European People's Party of Moldova and Serghei Scripnic from the Patriots of Moldova Party. The Council is due to make a statement regarding the registration in the race in seven days.
So far, Ion Ceban from the Socialist Party, Andrei Donică from the "Speranţa - Надежда" Professional Movement, Teodor Cârnaț from the "Voința Poporului" Political Party, Valerii Klimenko from the Political Party "Șor" and Valeriu Munteanu from the Political Party "Uniunea Salvați Basarabia" have been registered as candidates for the position of mayor of Chișinău municipality.
The team of the municipal councilor Victor Chironda is running for the mayoralty of the capital and for the Chișinău Municipal Council on behalf of the social-political movement platform "Forța Nouă".
