Victor Bodiu’s intention to make himself known is belated, PR specialist

The fact that the Government’s secretary general Victor Bodiu, who is the Liberal Democratic Party’s candidate for mayor of Chisinau, more often appears in public and in the press as official representative of the executive represents subtle use of the administrative resources on the last 100 meters before the election campaign, considers public relations specialist Ludmila Andronic. She stated for Info-Prim Neo that this way the PLDM is trying to make its candidate known in a rather short period of time. “Victor Bodiu is not well-known. It is now necessary to display his abilities for which he should be elected as mayor. As he earlier did not carry out activities to solve certain problems, he is presented as having contributed one way or another to their resolution,” said Ludmila Andronic. She also said that the recent press briefing where Victor Bodiu tried to calm pensioners who receive compensations for heat down was in fact a PR action as it is within the competence of the Labor Ministry to take such steps, not of the Government’s secretary. “The issue of compensations is dealt with by the Labor Ministry, but Minister Valentina Buliga is Victor Bodiu’s opponent. Thus, they do not want to let Mrs. Buliga to gain an advantage,” explained the specialist. Ludmila Andronic is convinced that a team of communication experts of the PLDM is planning every appearance of Victor Bodiu before the press. However, she believes that the steps taken to make him known are belated as Victor Bodiu does not practically have a visible political history. Victor Bodiu was fielded as a candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau in the fourth congress of the PLDM last Sunday.
