The humanitarian aid is being distributed in the areas hit by the floods, stated deputy premier Victor Stepaniuc at a briefing on Friday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Special attention is payed to the localities in the districts of Briceni, Ocnita, Rascani, Soroca, Soldanesti, Rezina, Anenii-Noi, Stefan-Voda, where the aid has been distributed to 620 families with over 1,500 members. The Government donates 26 tonnes of flour, grit cereals, sugar, bed linen, clothes and footwear. In addition, the non-governmental entities and people have given 35 tonnes of humanitarian aid. 1,340 citizens have donated aid, as some NGOs have sent 18 tonnes of consignment to the northern districts. Speaking about the contribution of foreign donors, Victor Stepaniuc says, apart from the Russian aid of 50 tonnes and a lot worth 1million lei reaching the Transnistrian area, assistance is coming from the Czech Republic, Turkey, Estonia, Austria, Lithuania, France. Some 50 tonnes of consignment has been distributed by the Red Cross, UNICEF and others. Stepaniuc specifies the distribution is not done fairly in all the localities, as only 80% of the mayors of the flooded areas have presented reports on the distribution. “I don't want to suspect anyone, the mayors have many problems to solve these days, and the reports may be late. Although more organization is needed in some localities from Stefan Voda, for example,” he specified. The deputy premier says the Government will build 240- 270 houses, and a similar number will be repaired. 22 families will get ownership papers for dwellings built by companies on July 9 in Briceni district.
