A series of veterans organizations demand that Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi should resign after this stated that factually, the Russian Federation’s army deployed in the eastern districts of Moldova intervened in force to stop the bloodshed there. They consider this statement is “diabolic” and call the minister “a traitor”.

In a news conference at IPN, chairman of Tiras-Tighina Association Anatol Caraman said this statement was made by the Russian pro-imperial government of the Party of Socialists that during many years asserted itself as a party that betrays the statehood of the Republic of Moldova, as an anti-national, anti-European party. “By astronomically corrupting the voters, state functionaries, by electoral stratagems and owing to the stupidity of the PAS and DA, the PSRM seized political power in the second Romanian state,” he noted.

Anatol Caraman stated that a catastrophic mistake for the Republic of Moldova was made in 1992 when Russian peacekeeping forces were accepted. The foolishness of the millennium was when the one that initiated the war was turned into a peacekeeper. “We call on all the healthy forces in the Republic of Moldova to combine forces against this government and to initiate the procedure for snap elections,” said the chairman of Tiras-Tighina.

Anatolie Petrici, chairman of the public association Center for the Protection of Fundamental Rights “Sirius”, said that a war of Russia against the Republic of Moldova was witnessed in 1992. “This servant Ciocoi received instructions from the “troika” as to what to say. The instructions came from Moscow and were delivered by brigadier Dodon, who convenes a meeting of the troika each Monday and tells them what Moscow instructed them to do,” stated Anatolie Petrici.

“This is shame and defiance and the associations of war veterans intend to sue servant Ciocoi for his denigrating statements about veterans,” said the association’s jurist Alexandru Banari.

“I want to address the minister of foreign affairs: whose interests do you defend, of Moldova or of Russia? If he says he will analyze what happened in 1992, mister minister come to us for help,” said veteran Gheorghe Paladi.

“We consider minister Ciocoi’s statements about the Nistru war are abusive and even criminal and contrary to the principles of independence of our state, the Republic of Moldova. We call on the whole civil society, the population to condemn these deeds and to take measures to combat in the future such irresponsible acts on the part of the state authorities,” said Vladimir Moga, of the Unity and Justice League.

Ilia Șișcu, a veteran from Vulcănești, stated that a lot of people died in those sovereignty defending events. Those who are still alive are not protected and receive paltry pensions. The rulers forget that they must serve the people, not other interests.
