The Republican War Veterans Association (RWVA) in Moldova insists on returning a plot of land that earlier was allotted to it. Association’s head Vasile Zaiat stated on Thursday, January 25, at a press conference that Chisinau City Hall allotted to RWVA a plot of land in 2002. The association has intended to build on this land a dwelling complex for the war veterans. According to the same source, later, “Santuan” JSC from Chisinau had claimed its right to the respective plot of land. Despite the petitions repeatedly submitted to numerous state bodies and organisations, Zaiat says that no one supported him, while the Supreme Court of Justice ruled in favour of the respective firm. RWVA head says that this injustice has been committed due to direct interference and support on the part the people in charge from the City Hall, Cadastre Office etc. In the context, Zaiat specified that “justice in Moldova lies at the mercy of those that violate the law”. RWVA says that it will announce the European Court about this case and reserves himself the right to organise protest actions.
