The team Veris is withdrawing from the National Division. The announcement was made on the team’s official website one day after the club’s owner Vladimir Niculaita threatened to withdraw the team from the championship.

Niculaita expressed his indignation at the performance of the referees in the match against Sheriff, of the quarterfinals of Moldova’s Cup. The owner is determined to withdraw the team from the championship, which now ranks first, and sent event a letter informing about his intentions to the Moldovan Football Federation.

“I hope the owner will change his mind and we will continue to successfully perform in the championship,” the team’s captain Petru Racu has told IPN.

If Veris withdraws, there will be nine teams competing in the National Division. FC Costuleni also left the competition recently.
