The sticker provided during the periodic technical inspection of vehicles will be digitized, IPN reports. Relevant changes were approved by the Cabinet and are designed to simplify the process of documenting vehicles as a result of technical inspection, IPN reports.

The sticker will take the form of a barcode that will be applied in the periodic technical inspection report. The measure will enable to reduce the operational costs incurred by the National Road Transport Agency and the authorized technical inspection stations by about 6.5 million lei a year.

The price of a sticker is now 10 lei and over 650,000 stickers are ordered annually. Also, in 2019-2020 the National Road Transport Agency destroyed 77,000 unused stickers. The loss of stickers by drivers in the process of using the vehicle will also be avoided.

The obligation to have a periodic vehicle inspection for being able to use public roads is no way excluded. If this obligation is not fulfilled, the license plate of the vehicle can be withdrawn.
